More than a mentor

Mentors from all backgrounds inspire young people to ask the right questions and seek out answers.

Inspire a generation.

‘I wish I had this at school’ is a phrase we hear from many of our mentors. Donating a couple of hours per week, remotely or in person, mentors support teams to:

  • Navigate learning resources
  • Prioritise and focus efforts
  • Project manage
  • Problem solve
  • Build relationships and collaborate
  • Learn more about the workplace and careers

Mentor a team

“Connecting with young people at this age and point in their lives is really important; there was nothing like this when I was their age. I would have loved it. It’s great for them; they can understand what they want to be when they’re older.”

Matt, Mentor and Engineering Apprentice, JCB

Put down that robotics PHD

No need to be a coding whizz – although an interest in tech, engineering, design won’t hurt! Our mentors are from a variety of sectors and roles within AI to HR. What unites them is a passion to empower young people.

We won’t just throw you to the robots. You’ll get access to face-to-face training, online resources, a peer community and of course support from HQ.

Your time, your way

Schools are used to using technology in the classroom, so you can decide whether to mentor face-to-face, remotely, or both to suit you.

Onboard

Jul – Sep

We offer face-to-face or online training to ease you into your role. You’ll meet other mentors and teachers, learn about the challenge and build confidence.

Build

Sep – Feb

You’ll meet with your team weekly or less often to strategise, design and build their robot. You’ll help them organise, think and operate like a business team.

Compete

Mar – Jun

Now it’s all about getting match-ready. Fine-tuning the robot and preparing judges pitches for the single day qualifying tournament in March and champs in June.

Finding your dream team

Once signed up, you’ll get access to our mentor map displaying organisations requesting a mentor. Perhaps you already have a connection with a school as a business, parent or former pupil. If so, tell us when you register and we’ll help to get them signed up.
